About this event

What better way to explore history than through food?

In this virtual baking class, we will learn more about the French chef who worked at Vizcaya when it served as a private winter estate. Students will get a private video tour of Vizcaya’s kitchen and dining spaces and then it’s time to get cooking!

We’ll be stepping into the chef’s shoes by making a delicious French pastry – galettes – with the guidance of Dade Heritage Trust's resident baker, Lucia.

A galette is a French pastry similar to a tart or a pie. Students will be receiving a list of ingredients and tools needed prior to the live class, so they can bake along with us.

You’re also welcome to just enjoy the class and then bake with the replay at your own pace. Easy, peasy.
